Career Development
This is ultimately where the rubber meets the road. This is also the area that is seldom considered as being very important by teams. This is the area that takes HOPE away from being the strategy. From his considerable research, Derek has determined that each motor sport athlete needs individual and custom development.
It's critical to understand that every athlete will develop at their own pace. They do not necessarily do what you think they should be doing - they only do what they are able to do - and this ability grows by someone providing powerful learning moments - either on or off the track.
Teenagers can only process information at the rate that teenagers can process information. Therefore DDA Career Development is predicated on an off track strategic plan that is executed through tactical efforts both on and off the race track.
If a driver is to succeed, he/she will also need access to the significant relationships (US & European) within the industry. How much will be spent in the seasons to come by parents, sponsors and investors without a real plan for the development of their drivers? How many teams will get their budgets when their focus is NOT the development of the driver?
The future of the sport is the athlete and the future of the athlete is the sport - but both only feed each other through success - why have HOPE be a part of that success?
